Planning your Meeting:
Use the Online Program Book until you get the Program Book on-site.
All of the sessions will be held in the Sheraton New Orleans, the New Orleans Marriott or the JW Marriott. The Career Center will be in the Sheraton.
Check the update page for additions and changes.

Registration for the meeting is at the Marriott. If you were not mailed a name badge it can be picked up at Registration. Those with name badges can go directly to pick up totebags which contain everything else you need including the program book.

There is a streetcar on Canal Street as well as other options.

Restaurants
You can see a list of vegetarian restaurants in New Orleans at Happy Cow.
The only Kosher resturants are in Metairie: Casablanca and Kosher Cajun New York Deli and Grocery.
But luckily Cafe du Monde is now kosher!

Finding God in the City of Angels:
Scriptural Communities and Dynamics in Los Angeles
(National Film Premiere!) Sunday 11/22/2009 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM Room: Grand Ballroom D - SH Finding God in the City of Angels is a documentary film directed by award-winning filmmaker Jennifer Jessum and written, produced, and sponsored by the Institute for Signifying Scriptures. A special panel session and audience discussion will follow the film premiere.

New Orleans and Flood Narratives: A Screening and Discussion of the Film Trouble the Water (Zeitgeist Films) Sunday 11/22/2009 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM Room: Grand Ballroom C - SH
Winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival, this documentary is at once horrifying and exhilarating. Trouble the Water weaves an insider’s view of Katrina with a mix of veritι and in-your-face filmmaking. Panel discussion with the filmmakers to follow.

Bible and American Popular Culture

If ever there were a city that would be defined by and known internationally for its music, it would be New Orleans. This session highlights the rich musical heritage of New Orleans in relation to the Bible and popular music.

The African Studies Association and the Society for Biblical Literature are pleased to partner to take advantage of our coinciding Annual Meetings, November 19-22 and November 20-24, respectively, in New Orleans. We have agreed that a registration badge for either meeting will allow reciprocal entry to the general sessions and the Exhibit Hall of the other. SBL registrants are also welcome to participate in the ASA special sessions and to visit the ASA Video Marketplace. Please see the Annual Meeting Programs for further details.
