Description:Lincoln Christian University seeks qualified applications for a professor (rank open) in New Testament, effective July 1, 2013. Primary teaching responsibilities will be in LCU’s School of Undergraduate Studies. Qualifications: doctorate (PhD or equivalent) in New Testament or directly related field preferred (ABD or masters-only may receive consideration), demonstrated achievement or potential in classroom teaching and of scholarly contribution, and experience in or willingness to train for online instruction; evidenced ability to display collegiality among faculty and to collaborate with others; balanced commitment to the Church, to Christian higher education, and to the broader academy. Experience in pastoral ministry is valued. Given the nature of this position, preferential consideration will be given to active members of Christian Churches or Churches of Christ. Applicants should be prepared to respond to the University’s mission, statement of faith, and philosophy of education (documents available at www.lincolnchristian.edu/about-us). Responsibilities for the position include teaching courses (6-8 per year) in the School of Undergraduate Studies’ core curriculum in Bible and Theology and in the Biblical Studies major, contributing to the academic discipline of New Testament, mentoring students outside the classroom, and fulfilling other duties as specified in the faculty member’s load profile.
