Description:Oberlin College invites applications for a full-time two-year non-continuing faculty position with the possibility of one additional year in the Religion Department in JUDAISM / JEWISH THOUGHT starting Fall 2013, as Visiting Assistant Professor or Instructor, to teach four courses per year in Jewish religious thought from Second Temple period to present, and advise and teach in the senior Religion capstone seminar. Research and teaching expertise in Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages is desired. Knowledge of primary texts in their original languages and the theory and methods of Religious Studies is essential. The Ph.D. degree is preferred; ABD candidates will be considered. Candidates must demonstrate excellence in undergraduate teaching.
