Description:In order to broaden and deepen its commitment to Catholic scholarship and teaching, DePaul University intends to hire a Visiting Assistant Professor for the academic year 2013-2014. The non-renewable one-year appointment will be made in the university's interdisciplinary Department of Catholic Studies with an affiliate membership in the Center for World Catholicism and Intercultural Theology. Applicants should have a dissertation that explores some aspect of global Catholicism and the dialogue of cultures. A successful applicant will have completed a doctoral dissertation within the last six years and will be expected to be able to teach five quarter courses in Catholic Studies at the undergraduate level as well as contribute to the research programs and collaborative initiatives sponsored by the Center. DePaul is the largest Catholic university in the United States, noted for its diverse student body and commitment to community engagement.
