Septuagint Studies

Program Unit Type: Section
Accepting Papers? Yes

Call For Papers: For the 2020 meeting, we are especially happy to receive suggestions that are tied to the ecology and ecological hermeneutics theme of the meeting; e.g., nature and creation imagery in the Septuagint.
All abstracts are expected to name the most important source texts, methodology, and a concrete research question. In addition, the abstract should explain how the proposed paper is connected with previous research and current developments in the field of Septuagint studies.

In addition to sessions with an open call, there will be a thematic panel session organized together with an international research network 'The Septuagint within the History of Greek'.
This special session aims to foster discussion of the language of the Septuagint, focusing on the place of the corpus within the history of Greek. Contributions will draw on the often neglected evidence of contemporary documentary sources and investigate the significance of the natural Koine characteristics of translation Greek.
