Historical Geography of the Biblical World

Program Unit Type: Section
Accepting Papers? Yes

Call For Papers: This year we will have at least two sessions – a general session for the Historical Geography of the Biblical World and a special session for the Tel Burna Archaeological Project. This latter session will include numerous archaeological and geographical studies related to the site of Tel Burna, Israel. Tel Burna is likely to be identified with the biblical town of Libnah (e.g., Josh 15:42) – an important historical geographical identification that has been further established by archaeological investigation – one of the major disciplines of Historical Geography. 15 years of investigation of the site have revealed numerous developments related to the site’s identity, history, political background, paleo-environment, economic resources, and much more. We look forward to the submission of many excellent studies from the Tel Burna team.
