These letters are in response to the article:Alexander Cruden's Bible Concordance: Two and a Half Centuries of Verse Mining and Prooftexting by Roger G. Baker

Response to Baker
Baker presents a fascinating description of Cruden and his famous concordance. For further biographical information I recommend Julia Keay's biography Alexander the Corrector: The tormented genious whose Cruden's Concordance unwrote the Bible (Woodstock & New York: Overlook Press, 2004). Keay intends to rehabilitate Cruden's reputation, while still recognizing his many idiosyncrasies. Cruden proudly used his sobriquet in his efforts to "correct the morals of the nation."
