Journey to the Copper Age: Archaeology in the Holy Land, will be at the San Diego Museum of Man during the SBL Annual Meeting. The Museum of Man is at Balboa Park, close to the Convention Center and conference hotels.

Journey to the Copper Age: Archaeology in the Holy Land tells the story of the profound changes that metallurgy brought to human society: the birth of Mediterranean farming, the creation of the first temples and cemeteries, and the emergence of complex societies. This special exhibition is based on a National Geographic expedition organized by Professor Thomas Levy (University of California, San Diego) who led a group of international scientists on donkeys across the deserts of Jordan and Israel to reconstruct the ancient trade route, mining methods, and ore smelting that were first used more than 6,000 years ago.

Journey to the Copper Age was produced by the San Diego Museum of Man and The Israel Museum, Jerusalem, in partnership with the Israel Antiquities Authority; the National Geographic Museum; the University of California, San Diego, and Calit2, the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology
