Greek Bible

Program Unit Type: Section
Accepting Papers? Yes

Call For Papers: As usual there will be an open session in which we welcome contributions that would not directly overlap with the theme of the IOSCS sessions. We welcome in particular papers that make a contribution to the reception of the Greek Bible in the Patristic Period. We aim to have a themed session entitled 'Commenting on the Greek Bible' in which papers are welcomed from contributors to current projects (Bible d'Alexandrie, Septuaginta Deutsch, Brill Commentary on the Septuagint, SBL Commentary on the Septuagint), with the intention of our having a conversation about method. A second themed session is now in its third year, entitled Lexicography of the Greek Bible. Papers are welcome that deal with lexicology and syntax of Biblical Greek language in relation to contemporary extra-biblical sources. Also of interest is the influence of the LXX's language on later Jewish and Christian Greek writings.
