Mysticism, Esotericism, and Gnosticism in Antiquity

Program Unit Type: Section
Accepting Papers? Yes

Call For Papers: For the 2019 meeting, the MEGA Group has an open call for papers on any topic related to mysticism, esotericism, or gnosticism in antiquity for an open paper session. One of our sessions is a joint session with the Western Esotericism Group (AAR). This session has an open call for papers that explore the reuse of ancient texts and other artifacts in the western reception history of mysticism, esotericism, and gnosticism from the Greco-Roman world. It will emphasize adaptation, not just transmission, including both the medieval and modern periods.
