Call For Papers: In 2019 the Theological Interpretation of Scripture seminar will sponsor three sessions, one will accept paper proposals: 1) A panel review of Ellen Davis’s Opening Israel’s Scriptures (OUP, 2019); 2) “Jews and Gentiles as One New Humanity” - a joint session with the Society for Post-Supersessionist Theology devoted to readings of Ephesians chapter 2; 3) “Reading the Beatitudes Theologically” - we will accept paper proposals that engage theological loci in the Beatitudes in the Gospel of Matthew or the Gospel of Luke, the significance of the Beatitudes in the canon and theology, or readings of the Beatitudes within communities of faith. Persons interested in the work of this unit, or with ideas for future sessions, should contact the chairs, Stephen Fowl (SFowl@loyola.edu) and Bo Lim (bolim@spu.edu).
