Gospel of Luke

Program Unit Type: Section
Accepting Papers? Yes

Call For Papers: The Gospel of Luke Section plans to offer three sessions in 2019. The first session, “Luke, Eschatology, and History,” will feature invited panelists discussing a constellation of topics (e.g., eschatology, apocalyptic literature, history and historiography, divine/human agency), using Kylie Crabbe’s forthcoming book, Luke/Acts and the End of History (de Gruyter), as a shared launching point. The second session, “Luke and Genre: New Questions, New Directions,” will be an invited panel of scholars whose work in contemporary genre research provides fresh perspectives on longstanding debates about the Gospel genre. For the third session, we welcome paper proposals regarding the rhetorical, theological, literary, and ethical aspects of the Gospel of Luke.
