Call For Papers: Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the AABS 2020 program will be held virtually (online by Zoom) on Saturday, November 14, 2020, according to this schedule (all times are given in Eastern Standard Time, EST, e.g., New York; please calculate your local time): 12:30 am – 1:00 pm Meet and Greet, Jane Patterson, presiding; 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm, Panel presentations and discussion on the topic “Revising Prayer Books with the Bible’s Expansive Language for God," Richard Liantonio, presiding, and Jonathan Draper and Karen Langton, panelists; 2:00 pm-2:15 pm Brief prayer service from a prayer book of the Anglican Communion, James Harding, presiding. There will be no charge for this event, but we appreciate payment of dues. Without the constraints of travel, we are looking forward to wider participation than is ordinarily possible. If you are a SBL member, you must login before you can propose a paper for this or any other session. Please login by entering your SBL member number on the left in the Login box.

For all other persons wanting to propose a paper, you must communicate directly with the chair of the program unit to which you want to propose. Chairs have the responsibility to make waiver requests, and their email addresses are available above. SBL provides membership and meeting registration waivers only for scholars who are outside the disciplines covered by the SBL program, specifically most aspects of archaeological, biblical, religious, and theological studies.
