SBL Forum Announces Photo Competition
The Society of Biblical Literature is seeking photographs from its members and the members of affiliated organizations for use on the SBL web site and in future SBL publications. With this contest, the Society hopes to build a photo collection that highlights its members' interests and professional activities, and enhances the graphic vitality of the web site.
Photographs of our members at work, at play, in the classroom or on campus; archaeological excavations, artifacts and documents are a few examples of the photo subject matter we are seeking. Any photograph that provides insight into the professional lives of our members or enriches the image and goals of our members and the Society is invited.
— Photos MUST be from the entrant's personal collection.
— Digital photographs can be submitted in one of two formats:

— Stored in a file: Submit files to the e-mail address below, and signed entry and release form to the mailing address. |
— Entries must be postmarked by July 15, 2004.
— Winners will be announced no later than September 15, 2004. Prizes:
Grand Prize: Free registration and VIP housing at this year's Annual Meeting in San Antonio, Texas; $100 gift certificate to the SBL Store, and complimentary 1 year membership. Photo will be given a prominent location on the website, and may be used in other publications at the discretion of the SBL, byline of prizewinner with photo.
Four Honorable Mentions: Each receive a $100 gift certificate, complimentary 1 year membership, and opportunity to book VIP housing accommodations at this year's annual meeting. Photographs will be displayed on the web site, and may be used in other publications at the discretion of the SBL, byline of prizewinners with photos.
