Intersectional Feminism(s)

Program Unit Type: Section
Accepting Papers? Yes

Call For Papers: For the 2010 SBL IM in Tartu, the Feminist Interpretations unit will organize three sessions. 1) Open call: We invite papers on methodological issues specifically relating to exegesis in feminist interpretation and gender studies. Papers are invited on divergent methodologies (e.g., historical critical, narratology, intertextuality…) and their relevance for gender studies. 2) Open call: Given the context of the IM, we invite papers for a second session on gender studies and the Bible in eastern Europe. Papers might address, for example, gender and Catholicism in Poland, gender studies in Protestant Baltics, or gender-related exegesis in Hungary or Croatia…. 3) Invitations will comprise a third session on feminist exegesis and cultural studies, specifically on the reception history of the "woman´s books" of the Old Testament.
