Bible and Its Influence: History and Impact

Program Unit Type: Section
Accepting Papers? Yes

Call For Papers: This unit is concerned with the use and impact of the biblical texts in a variety of contexts including politics and ethics and the way in which the Bible is either an active force in promoting, or else is used retrospectively to reflect, matters relating to the real lives of individuals as they are actually lived. The unit also accepts proposals for papers that deal with the reception of the Bible in Art, Music, Literature and Film. For the 2010 international meeting, papers which address matters relating to the links between Bible and culture in an Estonian context will be particularly welcomed, though papers dealing with broader links between biblical material and cultural contexts will also be considered.
