Jobs at the Annual Meeting

The Employment Center, sponsored by SBL and the American Academy of Religion, provides the opportunity for employers and those seeking employment to register for interviews at the Annual Meetings, as well as interview facilities, job listings, candidate credentials, and a messaging service. The point is for both candidates and employers to reduce costs of travel and time by facilitating the engagement of both parties in multiple interviews in a neutral environment. As the Annual Meetings are the major congressional venue for reporting current research, meeting colleagues, and making new connections, they also offers candidates the opportunity to obtain professional development—by engaging scholars, hearing lectures, giving papers, and participating in sessions.

Candidate Registration
In order to register for the Employment Center, you must also also register for the Annual Meeting. Click here to register for the Annual Meeting. Candidates may pre-register for $25 to post their credentials in a secure online forum accessible only to registered employers. Registered candidates are also able to contact registered employers and set-up interviews at the Annual Meetings Employment Center. More information about dates and deadlines is available on p. 7 of the Annual Meetings Brochure.

CV Submission System

The CV Submission and Review System is scheduled to open later in the year. You will be able to upload your CV at any time between the opening of candidate registration and February 15, 2015 once you receive your submission instructions. Employers will be able to review CVs at any point in time during this period as well once they register. CVs will be organized by both a primary and secondary classification and will be accessible by both classifications and candidates’ names.

Employer Registration
Employer registration enables you to view the credentials of SBL and AAR members who have registered as Employment Center candidates. Candidates can also view your jobs and make inquiries directly to you. Only those people who are registered for the Annual Meetings may utilize the Employment Center. You may register as either an SBL member, AAR member, joint member, or at the nonmember registration rate. All team members must be registered for the Annual Meetings. Click here to register for the Annual Meeting.

Only once you have registered as an employer for the Employment Center will you be able to gain access to the Candidate CV Submission and Review System.
