Founded in 1880, the Society has grown to over 8,500 international members including teachers, students, religious leaders and individuals from all walks of life who share a mutual interest in the critical investigation of the Bible.
Semeia Journal
Semeia, an experimental journal devoted to the exploration of new and emergent areas and methods of biblical criticism, was published from 1972 through 2002. Each issue was devoted to a particular theme, and articles explored the methods, models, and findings of linguistics, folklore studies, contemporary literary criticism, structuralism, social anthropology, and other such disciplines. After 2002, the journal Semeia was replaced by the book series Semeia Studies.

In addition to the individual print issues available for purchase below, the complete run of Semeia can also be purchased in electronic form from Logos Bible Software and Accordance Bible Software.
